I don’t allow automatic updates for any product. This includes Thunderbird. Instead I regularly update myself.

Unfortunately after updating Thunderbird to 102.7.0 I noticed that I kept asking me to authenticate to my Microsoft 365 accounts by popping up the web authentication window (oauth2 right).

After a quick Google search I’ve found this blog entry which explains that there’s a bug in this release, which they will fix very soon, but in the meantime everyone affected should just roll back to 102.6.1.

Fortunately for me at least the rollback was quite painless, and it did fix the issue.
